Marianne King
Senior Account Manager – Campaigns & Digital
Marianne has more than ten years experience in digital, e-commerce and analytical roles in both the commercial and non-profit sectors.
Beginning her not-for-profit career at the Marketing Association of New Zealand (MA), Marianne provided performance insight and analysis across all digital channels and for the many and varied marketing campaigns offered by the organisation. Along with the day-to-day management of the MA’s website, email platforms, social media channels, SEO and SEM, Marianne was responsible for finding ways to optimise performance and improve offerings to the public and the organisation.
From the MA, Marianne moved to Child Cancer Foundation where she lead the strategic development and integration of digital channels into the Foundations fundraising mix, managing a wide range of digital and e-commerce development – from donor acquisition and reactivation to developing and implementing highly engaging user journeys and digital fundraising campaigns with cut-through.
At Child Cancer Foundation, Marianne was the digital lead on a number of major fundraising and peer-to-peer campaigns, including the inaugural NZ Wig Wednesday campaign, the Big Hoot and Caleb’s Joke Challenge and believes the key to a successful campaign is being able to walk in the “donor’s shoes”. During her time with the Foundation Marianne significantly increased revenue received through digital channels, lifting the website conversion rate from 1.8% to 3.9% and more than doubling the Foundation’s annual appeal and Christmas appeal digital revenue over a three-year period.
The opportunity to make the world a better place and a strong cup of coffee are what get Marianne out of bed in the morning.
