For years, Foodbank’s mission of getting food to hungry Australians has required a focus on practical issues such as food supply, warehousing and logistics.
But with increasing numbers of people around the country struggling to put food on the table, Foodbank invited Donor Republic to develop a fundraising strategy to help meet the growing need.
We developed a five-year strategic roadmap designed to transition Foodbank from being primarily focused on warehousing and logistics into a charitable organisation with clear emotional and rational propositions, and a range of new fundraising offers.
The strategic roadmap has helped Foodbank dramatically increase revenue, while providing a clear pathway for sustained growth into the future.
- Revenue up from $300k to $6m in five years
- 45-50% of donors give a second gift
- New campaigns focused on school breakfast club and a range of emotional propositions
- Increased digital fundraising including email and social media campaigns
- New Regular Giving program
Foodbank is the largest hunger relief charity in Australia. They are the pantry to the charity sector, linking surplus food and groceries to people in need. In 2020, Foodbank sourced 88 million meals for their charity partners.
Prioritising service delivery over fundraising can sometimes hold an organisation back from achieving even greater results. Through the introduction of a strategic fundraising plan, Foodbank is now in a position to help more Australians in need than ever before.
